Description

The payroll accountant will manage the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages. This role involves preparing payroll reports, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. The payroll accountant will also handle employee queries regarding payroll and work closely with the HR and finance departments.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for employees accurately and on time.

• Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions.

• Ensure payroll transactions are processed correctly and in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

• Maintain payroll records and ensure they are up to date.

• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

• Manage and update employee payroll information.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

• Prepare and file payroll tax returns and reports.

• Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations.

  Requirements

• Must have previously utilized Paychex.

• Must have experience with share-based compensation. (Stock options, restricted stock, etc.)

• Payroll tax knowledge.

• Ability to complete all payroll functions such as benefits, 401k, wage adjustments, garnishments, and processing payroll.
